God wants to talk with you, chat with you, be pals with you! He wants to show you everything He gave you through Jesus. Yeah! He wants to take you out of despair, discouragement, fear, sickness and poverty into a cool, abundant life. This goes beyond the general revelation of God that is available to everybody through creation. This is a specific revelation to people who are friends with Jesus. He wants you to know the great inheritance He has for you and He wants to show you how to access it! God wants to teach you how to live a great life, give you wisdom, prepare you, warn you and deliver you. He is speaking all the time! Why aren’t many people hearing?
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.(1 Corinthians 2:14 – NKJV)
Sadly, many Christians could be classified as ‘natural men’, not because they are not born again, but because they simply give no time to the things of God. They have let other things distract them so much that those things choked the Word of God and they have chosen to live as natural men, not spiritual. They have forgotten that they are gods and now live like mere mortal men. Even though their spirits are alive to God and His voice, they seldom hear or recognize His promptings because they haven’t taken the time to prepare their hearts to hear Him.
Consider the challenge of the blind and the deaf. In the natural world, they are certainly at a disadvantage. Those sights and sounds that most of us take for granted are unknown to those who cannot see or hear. It is a different life that they live. Adjustments are made but the rich world of sight and sound remains locked away and they can only imagine it.
The natural man is living a similar life. A life without hearing God is a minimal existence at best. We were created to hear Him. Choosing to ignore Him and live life on the natural level is similar to being blind and deaf at the same time. You can adjust, but you will never know the abundant life. We were created to live in communion with the Father and His abundance, favor, blessing, wisdom, and instruction are available to us. Abundant life begins with a desire to hear Him.
The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The LORD has made them both. (Proverbs 20:12 – NKJV)
Often we dismiss God and His ways because we think He would make our life boring and controlling. That is a lie that religious people have told us. Jesus wants you to be free and to enjoy your life. He just wants to help you create the kind of life you want for yourself and enjoy it. The only way for that to happen is if you begin to hear his voice when he speaks to you. And you know what? Because you are a god, you actually can hear him as easily as you can hear other humans beings. You just need to start listening…
You are a spirit being, God is the Spirit being, the devil is also a spirit being so, in your hearing you will also hear the devil who will probably try to disguise himself to you as God. To prevent that from happening, you need to start learning how to recognise the voice of God. How? By reading the Bible. God will never tell you things that are contrary to what is written in the Bible. You will make mistakes at first but with time you will get better at recognizing his voice, the voice of the one who is actually for you, your friend who loves you to death. Jesus.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27 – NKJV)
